We are seeking a detail oriented, organized Department Assistant for a 6-month contract opportunity supporting a well-known Orange County based public agency. The Administrative Assistant will public Board Meeting packets in accordance with the Brown Act and provide advanced administrative support to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Department Assistant Key Responsibilities:

Prepares Board and/or Committee meeting packets by reviews all contents of packets to ensure information is complete and accurate

Coordinates the distribution of Board and/or Committee packets

Prepares Board meeting notices
-
Oversees and updates the Board of Directors and website to ensure information is current
-
Prepares and processes the Board of Director’s payroll, communication, and mileage reimbursement
-
Oversees and updates the Board of Directors and District Transparency sections of the website to ensure information is up-to-date
Department Assistant Skills and Experience:
-
Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible clerical, secretarial, and routine administrative support experience.

Experience working in the government sector, specifically with public board meetings
-
Strong writing and editing skills
-
Advanced ability using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
-
Advanced experience with Adobe Acrobat
-
Excellent customer service skills
-
Strong communication skills
-
Thrives working on a team
-
Experience applying The Brown Act a plus, but not required
