Job Title: AP Specialist 

Pay $35-36/hr - Temp-to-hire 

Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm 

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Payment and Financial Processing
  2. Prepare, initiate, and post ACH payments, wire transfers, and online payments; prepare related journal entries.
  3. Review payment proposals and process payments for cost invoices and employee reimbursements.
  4. Approve expense invoices for accuracy and compliance.
  5. Reconciliation and Reporting
  6. Process and reconcile credit card statements.
  7. Reconcile the assigned balance sheet accounts.
  8. Support and maintain reconciliation.
  9. Assist with AP aging clean-up and vendor file updates.
  10. Provide support for 1099 reporting.
  11. Vendor Management
  12. Complete credit applications for vendors.
  13. Maintain and update vendor files to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  14. Team Leadership and Coordination
  15. Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and address interdepartmental tasks.
  16. Ensure accurate record-keeping for assigned duties and projects.
  17. Analysis and Problem-Solving
  18. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, reporting findings to management.
  19. Compile, organize, and analyze documentation for business transactions.
  20. Customer Service and Communication
  21. Respond promptly to accounting inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  22. Maintain regular communication with overseas affiliates, agents, vendors, and other departments.
  23. Ad Hoc Tasks
  24. Provide coverage for team members during absences.
  25. Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of operational accounting experience.
  • Proven supervisory experience, including staff development.
  • Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and Word.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Familiarity with U.S. GAAP, SOX, or Japan SOX regulations.
  • Industry Knowledge
  • Experience in the freight-forwarding or logistics industry is plus not required
