Job Title: Regional Sales Manager - Freight Forwarding/Logistics

Location: Los Angeles, CA | Seattle, WA | Portland, OR
Positions Available: 2 Direct Hires 

Salary: 75,000 - 100,000

Job Overview:
We are seeking highly motivated and results-driven Regional Sales Managers to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for securing and managing new regional and local account businesses through a hunting sales approach within the freight forwarding and logistics industry. The focus will be on Air, Ocean, Warehousing/Distribution, and 3PL services.

Responsibilities:

  • Secure and manage new regional/local account business through proactive sales strategies.

  • Continuously grow new business by maintaining strong relationships with mid-level management and key decision-makers in the Semiconductor, Automotive, Electronics, and other industry verticals.

  • Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets in overall territory and individual account targets.

  • Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives, including qualifying opportunities, identifying key decision-makers, and offering tailored solutions.

  • Conduct a minimum of 60 direct customer calls, web meetings, or face-to-face meetings per month.

  • Provide coaching and conduct joint sales calls with the Regional Sales Director, Department Managers, and Branch Managers for additional support as needed.

  • Maintain personal contact with large key accounts to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Research customer needs and offer solutions in an effective and timely manner.

  • Analyze competition and determine market strategies to overcome sales obstacles using relevant data.

  • Research and create lists of potential customers to determine market opportunities.

  • Evaluate product and service marketability based on customer needs and industry trends.

  • Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and emerging markets to expand sales targets.

  • Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Regional Director/AGM, Branch Management, Department Managers, Customer Service, and Operations staff to establish clear communication for handling new customers

Qualifications:

  • Strong self-motivation and strategic focus, with the ability to quickly identify key decision-makers and opportunities.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in hunting sales within the freight forwarding/logistics industry.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to conduct corporate meetings and executive presentations with C-level positions.

  • 5+ years of experience in general management concepts such as planning, accounting, administration, and economics.

  • Proven ability to close business and clearly identify short- and long-term sales opportunities.

  • High-level negotiation skills, with experience in contract and process negotiations.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Only applicants meeting these minimum qualifications will be considered.

Sales Activity Expectations:

  • Achieve annual revenue target.

  • Conduct a minimum of 15 sales visits per week and obtain at least 5 quotes per week.

  • Update Target Account list (report) and Salesforce CRM on a weekly basis.

  • Report new business acquired on a monthly basis.

  • Attend and report on sales activity weekly via web meetings or in person.

  • Demonstrate continuous commitment and persistence in closing new business.

General Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, economics, or equivalent experience.

  • Licensing: Valid state driver’s license (required for face-to-face meetings, site visits, and achieving sales targets).

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize various projects.

  • Ability to influence in a matrix environment.

Patience and ability to navigate complex processes involving multiple levels of approval.
