We are seeking a detailed, deadline driven efficient Accounts Payable Specialist for a temp to hire opportunity with a background screening industry leader. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and is mainly responsible for assisting the AP Supervisor in processing invoices and issuing payments. The ideal Accounts Payable Specialist will ensure proper vendor account coding of invoices into the accounting system, process check requests and verify approval on all invoices.

How you will make a difference:

  • Manages invoices for timely processing of review, approvals and payment for multiple entities.
  • Review for appropriate documentation and input invoices into the proper general ledger account and seek approval prior to payment
  • Prepare data analysis on spend and trending of accounts as required
  • Assist with month end close and annual financial audit
  • Initiates and manages vendor payments via check, ACH or wire payment.
  • Identify, investigate and correct any invoice and coding discrepancies
  • Performing a monthly invoice audit for selected vendors by set deadlines
  • Generate and distribute monthly vendor invoices using internal reporting systems
  • Update and maintain vendor database and Accounts Payables files
  • Provide support in 1099 reporting
  • Assist the Accounting Team with ad-hoc projects as needed

Must haves:

  • 1+ years relevant Accounts Payable experience required
  • College degree preferred but not required Strong organizational skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter and analytical skills
  • Must know Excel, Word, Outlook, Accounting software, QuickBooks preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must be detailed-oriented and possess good problem solving skills
