We are seeking a motivated, passionate Bilingual Spanish Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator for a reputable manufacturing company of building materials located in Okeechobee, FL for a direct hire opportunity!

The Bilingual Spanish Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of safety and health programs to assure the highest possible degree of employee safety.

The Bilingual Spanish Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

  • Implements safety and health programs and ensures compliance with all regulations including federal, state, local and OSHA, etc.
  • Coordinates, develops, and delivers safety training programs (new-hire, general safety, forklift and other industrial trucks, PAPR respirator etc.) to all personnel.
  • Works with the Safety Manager to Identify and address critical areas relating to safety and health concerns. 
  • Coordinates and conducts safety and health walk-through inspections and audits of all workplace facilities.
  • Ensures compliance in resolution of non-compliant issues and concerns.
  • Creates and maintains documentation of safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Investigates work injuries identifying root causes and provides corrective action as required.
  • Conducts safety equipment inspections as required.
  • Serves and participates on the safety committee.
  • Conducts safety information sharing sessions with associates.
  • Serves as facility evacuation coordinator.
  • Assists the HACI Safety Specialist with other related duties as required, including inventory management, stocking of supplies, PPE delivery to all buildings, etc. 
 

The Bilingual Spanish Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator  must possess the following:

  • BA/BS degree preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of one year of recent, similar experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suites , especially MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
