Helpmates is currently looking for a full-time Aerospace Adhesive Sprayer. We have partnered with an Aerospace Contractor in the city of Seal Beach, CA.

Aerospace Adhesive Responsibilities:

  • Job Summary:

    An adhesive sprayer prepares the surface to be sprayed and protects or masks the surface not to be sprayed. They will be spraying adhesive to a variety of production parts, assemblies, plant equipment, and accessories, according to specifications, using paint shakers, sanders, paintbrushes, caulking gun, masking jigs, pendant cranes.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

    1. Must be able to read basic instructions and diagrams in English
    2. Must have knowledge of basic shop math skills
    3. Ability to use basic shop tools such as viscosity cups, paint thermo cups, and thickness gauges
    4. Ability to do accurate work at a fast pace
    5. Ability to sandblast parts with minimal scrap or errors
    6. Knowledge of materials and methods for masking and preparation of parts
    7. Ability to mask parts not to be painted
    8. Ability to clean and maintain painting equipment
    9. Familiar with standard shop practices in the aerospace industry
    10. Familiar with lean manufacturing principles

     

    Education & Experience:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent
    2. 0 to 2 years of experience

     

    Job Knowledge:

    Little or no knowledge of the job

     

    Reporting Relationships/Contacts:

    This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor and interacts daily with other employees in their department. 

     

    Physical Demands/Working Conditions/Environment:

    Work areas may be noisy, and the adhesive sprayer may have to sit or stand for long periods to perform their work. Surroundings are generally clean and well lit. May have to lift and/or fit 5 to 40-pound objects with out assistance; 41+ lbs with assistance. Must be able to tolerate nontoxic exposure to substances such as solvents, glues, epoxy, primers, paints, and similar agents. Work schedule may vary at times one shift to another. Wear PPE in accordance with safety requirements, including a respirator, nitrile gloves, Tyvek sleeves, smock or apron, and face shield.

Aerospace Adhesive sprayer Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • 3+ Years of related experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift
  • Must read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of safe handling and disposal of various regulated materials used in the process.  Understanding of how to track volatile organic compounds in geographical locations that have air quality regulations.

 

Pay rate: $13.50 + .50 cents for 2nd Shift Differential

2nd Shift 3:30pm –12:00am could end at 1:00am  (train on 1st shift for a 3-4 weeks)

Must be flexible to work overtime.
