Helpmates Staffing Services in partnership with Amway-Nutrilite is looking for a Facilities/Building Maintenance Technician. Our Facilities Operations Department is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility related equipment at our World Headquarters complex in Buena Park. In this role, you will perform routine up keep and emergency repairs to ensure the facility continuously looks its best and remains a safe environment for employees and visitors alike.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency to:

  • Handle repairs that require basic skills as a carpenter, electrician, plumber, mechanic, painter, HVAC, boilers and roofers.
  • Safely use power tools and operate MVE such as forklifts, scissor lifts and electric pallet jacks.
  • Conduct regular building inspection to determine areas that need attention and then complete the task in a timely manner.
  • Close job orders in the department’s internal system in a timely manner.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties such as general clean up as required and picking up of litter around the facility
  • Electrician Assistant - light fixtures mainly
  • Building Maintenance - painting, tile, carpet
  • Forklift - charging of forklift batteries
  • All work will be done directly under the direction and supervision of an electrician or a Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday or Thursday - Sunday 5:00am - 3:00pm

The accomplished individual will possess:

  • Minimum 1-2 years working in building or facility maintenance or in a related field.
  • Strong background in construction or in skills that encompass most of the construction field.
  • Strong understanding of quality service and sense of urgency.
  • Strong attention to detail/safety and a high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Strong customer service and team dynamic skills.
  • Superior attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • A willingness and ability to be on call, work over time and work up to 5-6 days per week; some Saturdays, Sundays and holidays included.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
