JOB SUMMARY 

The Final Assembler will perform assembly operations to mass-produce commercial aircraft interior components such as galleys, closets, VCC’s, overhead stowage bins, ceiling panels, sidewalls, etc. for commercial transport aircraft, while adhering to time constraints of a master production schedule.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES - Essential Functions (Other duties and projects may be assigned or requested.)  

  • Ensure the company’s products are built and assembled to the latest released engineering drawings
  • Ensure work orders and traceability books are maintained and completed throughout the manufacturing cycle.
  • Report defects to quality assurance and manufacturing engineering personnel
  • Comply with installation procedures according to the company’s engineering drawings and requirements.
  • Clean and prepare production units for fabricating, painting, assembly, or shipping.
  • Mix and apply adhesives per manufacturers specifications and company requirements
  • Apply edge fill, glue, and sealant per company requirements
  • Verify unit dimensions before installing inserts, rivets, blind nuts, blocks, angles, doublers, and fittings
  • Cut, fit, and bond extrusion to shape per approved engineering drawings
  • Bond, screw, glue, or attach parts together
  • Drill, countersink, and rivet metal or sheet metal parts as required
  • Install attachment fittings
  • Requisition parts as needed from the stockroom
  • Lift, position, and remove production units from machines or assembly area
  • Load, stack, and transport stock, tools, dies, and work in process
  • Organizes tools, hardware, and materials in an easy to find, easy to use format.
  • Keeps a clean shop free of safety hazards.
  • Maintains a safe, secure and legal work environment; adhering to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains and protects the confidentiality of the Company’s information and products.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned or requested.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS /EXPERIENCE AND OTHER INFORMATION

  • This is a temp-to-hire position.  The successful candidate will initially be employed through a staffing partner.  
  • High school diploma; trade school or certification preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of prior direct experience in the aerospace industry; 1 to 3 years of experience in a related industry may be considered
  • Must be available to work overtime and weekends as necessary 
  • Able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
