Historian Transcriber with Workers’ Comp experience


You will interview patients by asking questions pertaining to the patients’ injury and work history. As a historian you will read the questionnaire to the patient and type their response in their own words. All qualified candidates must be able to type a minimum of 65 words per minute with 100% accuracy, knowledge of medical terminology, be highly motivated and dependable.


Verify patient file contains correct information for future clinical review process

Cautiously proofread and edit document for errors and grammar

Isolate mistakes and/or inconsistencies and flag or correct as pertaining to specific guidelines

Translate medical jargon and abbreviations

Comply with specific standards pertaining to each individual hospital, clinic, and record

Comply with HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality is maintained

Other duties assignment


Must be flexible to work Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00am -5:00 depending on the case load, this position will start as a full time position until training is complete, the approximately 6-7 hours daily.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Excellent organization and time management skills and flexibility to handle changing priorities
  • Type minimum of 45 WPM
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned - Must be a team player
