Under the general direction of the supervisor, this position ensures proper packaging of materials and finished products. This position is responsible for loading, moving material and operating high speed packaging equipment. It is also responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect, assuring the safety, quality, and quantity of product produced.




  • Ensure compliance with corporate safety standards and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Operate high-speed packaging equipment.
  • Interact with HMI (Human Machine Interface). Program and adjust setting to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain machine at standard speed, output consistency and minimize downtime and product waste. Maintain equipment to meet daily production goals.
  • Set-up and adjust equipment to package products of various types, sizes and configurations as well as perform audits, weights and quality checks.
  • Troubleshoot and locate root problems and repair unscrambler, printer, filler, capper, sleever, labeler, case erector, drop packer, case sealer and support equipment.
  • Perform set up and equipment changes.
  • Perform hydraulic and pneumatic checks and replaces valves, hoses and pumps.
  • Complete and maintain repair checklists and complete reports as required.
  • Lubricate and perform any preventive maintenance to all equipment and keep necessary records.
  • Ensure the application of GMP’s and SOP’s at all times.
  • Communicates mechanical issues to Supervisor or requests help directly from the mechanics.
  • Perform line sanitation.
  • Interface with Supervisor through the run.
  • Perform visual inspection of products to maintain proper quality.
  • Conduct in-process testing and inspection, and documents results.
  • Operate manual and powerlifting equipment to lift/move heavy object(s).
  • Document all procedures being carried out and input into MRP.
  • Maintain clean production area.
  • Other duties as assigned. As necessary, performs other related functions of which the above are representative. KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:




  • High School diploma or equivalent required. AA or some college preferred.
  • One year work experience.
  • Minimum six months hands-on experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment e.g. manufacturing methods and procedures.



  • Team-oriented and willing to work collaboratively with Operators, Mechanics and Supervisor.
  • Demonstrated an initiative and desire to work in a dynamic work environment with multiple demands.
  • Takes initiative to help out when required or needed with total production operation and performs other duties when requested.
  • Ability to navigate through multiple computer screens and perform data entry.
