We are seeking a Senior Buyer, Parts Purchasing for a contract opportunity in Irvine supporting a large organization! The primary objective of the Senior Buyer, Parts Purchasing is to ensure the continuous supply of OE service parts from the supply base at the lowest possible cost throughout the life cycle of the vehicle.  The Senior Buyer is responsible for all facets of supplier management including the analysis and negotiation of cost, lead time, order multiples, and supply terms and conditions for up to or in excess of 100 suppliers over a broad spectrum of part commodities.

The Senior Buyer, Parts Purchasing job responsibilities:

  • Manage in all Supply Chain activities for up to 100% of the assigned supply base including part expediting, ASN repair, and grief resolution to ensure the on-time delivery of part orders.
  • Responsible for the purchase price analysis and review of all current and past model vehicle O.E. parts for assigned supply base
  • Resolve supply and/or commercial issue related to pricing and/or terms and conditions or force majeure.
  • Responsible for identifying and pursuing cost reduction opportunities within assigned supply base.
  • Lead purchasing related activities pertaining to new model launch and engineering level changes for assigned supply base including supplier/sourcing establishment, cost, lead time and order multiple establishment, packaging specifications, EDI establishment, and EBS supplier and part set up activities.
  • Manage activities related to part resourcing.
  • Proactively manage all assigned parts against the company retention policy.

The Senior Buyer, Parts Purchasing job requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • 3 -5 years of procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Training in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Procurement or Supply Chain Management.  – Required.
  • Automotive parts experience. – Preferred.
  • CPM- preferred
  • Exceptional knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook – Required.
  • Communication, presentation, documentation, organizational, team building and project management skills – Required.
  • Experience managing 100+ suppliers or over $2M spend required
  • Strong priority management skills,
  • Ability to read component drawings
  • Oracle EBS and OBIEE experience desired
