Responsibilities vary based on knowledge, experience and business need.  Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, work from one or more of the following areas:

 

Cashiering:

- Operates, balances and reconciles cash register.  Verifies current/valid identification cards.  Place product orders for employees and eligible family members.

Sales Floor Merchandising

- Receives, stocks, cleans, sorts and re-tickets product for assigned department/product line. 

- Answers customer questions, resolves complaints and provides product information.

Merchandise Stock Handling

- Loads and unloads trucks, receives merchandise, processes documents, prices, tickets, stores or delivers merchandise to selling location. 

- Investigates and reconciles receiving discrepancies.

-  Affixes special instructions or explanation on goods. 

- Ensures product freshness by performing FIFO (First in First Out) for all products.

- Cleans and organizes stockroom, rearranges store fixtures and displays, and responds to requests to deliver merchandise from stockroom to selling floor or carry merchandise to customer vehicles or pickup areas. 

- Conducts item counts and physical inventories.

Ordering/Inventory

- Orders product to maintain inventory levels for Store or Employee Programs.

- Orders and stocks logo merchandise to maintain inventory levels for ABO Programs.

- Performs inventory transaction maintenance, reporting and research, including: inventory integrity, management of excess, obsolete and close-dated inventory; overages, shortages and inventory discrepancies

-  Places remote delivery customer product order requests.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience:

 

Must be able to:

  • Performs one or more of the core Store Operation Function with work controlled by clearly defined procedures and polices
  • Developing basic skills and gaining knowledge of the Store functions, including systems, procedures and policies required to independently perform routine tasks
  • Applies limited interpretation to basic data, standard practices, procedures and policies
  • Resolves routine problems

 

  • Develop familiarity with and follows all applicable company safety regulations
  • Develop familiarity with and follows Store SOPs for assigned core work functions
  • Learn/develop core line product knowledge
  • Operate equipment used to perform assigned work functions, including Hilo, walkie, electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack, computer, cash register
  • Obtain a Hilo certification, if assigned responsibilities require Hilo driving
  • Follow current operating procedures and make recommendations for improvements
  • Bring safety or other work-related issues to the attention of management
  • Manage time well, including breaks and lunches
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Assist other areas without being asked
  • Engage with team and actively communicate
  • Share ideas for continuous improvement
  • Actively participate in team meetings
  • Demonstrate prioritization skills
  • Demonstrate tact and diplomacy
  • Demonstrate high level customer service
  • Basic math skills, e.g., count money, basic addition/subtraction, etc.
  • Perform basic reconciliation

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Consent to a drug screening
  • Must be able to speak, write and read English
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, time efficient, self-starter with the ability to multi-task
  • Willing to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to stay focused on the job.
  • Work a 4-10 schedule
