Workers’ Compensation Collection Specialist

We focus on hiring people who are passionate about what they do! We encourage our employees to be creative and take initiative. We are a fast paced injury center and are seeking a self starter, motivated, experienced Medical Workers’ Comp Collector to manage and collect all insurance cases.

Must be able to:

  • Negotiate settlements in accordance within company standards, client specific handling instructions and state laws, when needed
  • Investigate, evaluate and adjust claims
  • Successful work history to include 4-5 years of workers’ compensation claims management
  • Multi task and work with urgency
  • Excellent telephone etiquette, communication, computer, Internet, and correspondence skills
  • Outstanding verbal negotiation skills

The job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Work claims off of an aging report (aged claims back through 2015)
  • Research and understand various payer policies to improve successful payment recovery
  • Focus on both commercial and government payers
  • Perform in-depth research to appropriately obtain coverage for any denied claims or invoices
  • Process both ICD 9 and ICD 10 claims
  • Make small balance write-offs or adjustments on accounts when applicable

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required / Secondary school: Preferred certification from a course in: Medical Billing and Coding
  • Minimum 4-5 years of: Workers' Compensation
  • Ability to work the standard schedule of:  8:00-5:00
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned - Must be a team player
  • Excellent organization and time management skills and flexibility to handle changing priorities
  • HIPAA compliant
